Catherine A. (Houston) Hackett passed away at Wingate Nursing Home in Reading on Feb. 11th at the age of 85. Catherine was born in Somerville, raised in Medford, graduated from Medford High School and has been a resident of Stoneham since 1968. She worked as a traffic supervisor for the City of Medford for 28 years and also worked as a nursing assistant at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 7 years. Catherine was the wife of the late John F. Hackett. Mother of Beverly J. Davis of Stoneham and John F. 'Jack' Hackett & his wife Paula of Medford. Sister of Mary Healy of Medford, Flora Hambrecht & her husband John of Medford, Alexander Houston of Illinois and the late Elizabeth Allen & Sadie Semon. Granmother of Ron Davis, Todd Davis & his wife Lucy, Ryan Davis, Wendy Hackett, Amy Hackett & Lauren Hackett. Great grandmother of Michaela & Joshua Davis. Funeral services will be held at Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday Feb.16th at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 3-8PM.
