Catherine G. (LeBlanc) Rahilly of Melrose, died on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Stoneham. She was 90 years of age. Born on April 20, 1921 in Peabody, she was raised in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools. After high school, she graduated from the Massachusetts Art School. Mrs. Rahilly was a Melrose resident for many years and a member of St. Mary's Church of Melrose. She worked as an inspector with the General Electric for 17 years and then with Raytheon for 6 years. Catherine enjoyed painting, reading, gardening and traveling in her younger years. Her joy was her family, especially her great grandson Scott. She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel N. Rahilly with whom they shared 50 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Catherine Cormier & her husband Pierre of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Kristen Sloane & her husband Steven of Rockville, Maryland. Special great grandmother of Scott Sloane. Caring sister of Leona Santisi of Danvers, William LeBlanc of NH & Theresa Manning of FL. & 7 deceased brothers & sisters. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, August 3rd at 8AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM.
