Charlene F. Shepard, age 81, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away peacefully on Friday August 08, 2025, at her sister's home in Chelmsford, surrounded by her loving family.

Charlene was born in Malden on July 13, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Chester E. & Margaret E. (Warner) Wells-Maher.

Charlene was raised in Malden and  graduated from Malden High School in 1963. She worked for Elderly Services in Malden for several years. Charlene also worked as a Customer Service Representative for Prescott Insurance Agency in Malden.

She was an avid Red Sox Fan and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles & dancing at various clubs to the Old Time Rock & Roll Music.

Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her loving parents, she leaves her children: Shirley Shepard of North Carolina, Vincent Shepard of Saugus, Jeffrey Shepard of Dorchester, Stephen Shepard and his wife Julie of Peabody, John Shepard, his wife Alicia and daughters Adilyn & Ashlyn of Rhode Island. Her Grandchildren: Eric Shepard and his wife Katie of Somerset, Danielle Mendez and her husband Marvin of North Carolina, Thomas Hodges and his wife Ashley of South Carolina Nicholas & Ashley Shepard of Peabody, Great Grandchildren Christian, Jose, Ashley, & Alexia Mendez of North Carolina, Sisters Peggy Novis and late husband John of Chelmsford, Patti Brady of Dracut, Gerri Carbone & husband Lou of Goodyear, Arizona, and the late Pamela J. Hunt & Robert S. Wells. Along with several Nieces, Nephews Cousins and Friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10AM-11AM, followed by a funeral home service at 11AM. Interment to follow at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
