Charles C. Cliff McDonald, 55, died at home Thursday, unexpectedly. Born and raised in Boston, he graduated from So. Boston High and Univ of New Hampshire where he was Captain of the Football team in 1970. Cliff was the New England Heavy Weight Boxing Champion in the mid 1970s. A Physical Ed teacher in the Boston Public School System for over 32 years , he was also a Master Plumber. A member of St Marys Church and the AOH of Medford, he had been a resident of Melrose for the past 25 years. Husband of Jane E. ( McClintock ) McDonald. Father of Amy E. Munroe & her husband Edward of Quincy and Charles Clifford McDonald III & his wife Shanna of Madison WI. Grandfather of Margaret & Conor Munroe and Charles Clifford McDonald IV. Son of Marian ( Farrar) McDonald of So. Boston and the late Charles Clifford McDonald. Brother of Gillian Ragucci of Saugus, Susan McDonald of Medford, Richard McDonald of Quincy, Mary Ahern, Linda Chapin, Edward McDonald & David McDonald all of So Boston & John McDonald of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79W Foster St, Melrose on Sat July 31 at 9 AM.
