Charles R. Pinkney passed away at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, on March 23, 2006, he was 89. Charles was born and raised in Nova Scotia, he lived in Melrose for 25 years and the past 18 years in Reading. Mr. Pinkney started his career as a chef in Canada; he worked for Servomation Corporation in Stoneham for 10 years and as a chef for the 1st National Bank of Boston for 10 years. He was a former member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Melrose and a present member of the Church of The Good Shepherd in Reading. He was the husband of the late Susie (Foote) Pinkney. Father of Sandra Saltzman of Reading and Nancy Scott of Scarborough, ME. Grandfather of Kerri-Ann Tobin of Natick, Heather Mailhot of ME & Christopher CJ Scott of VT. Great grandfather of Jacob Tobin. Also survived by several nieces, nephews & cousins. A funeral service will be held at The Church of The Good Shepherd, corner of Shute & Woburn St. Reading, on Tuesday March 28th, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
