Cheryl A. Butler, 70, formerly of Melrose, passed away at home on February 9, 2024 in Middleton. Born on September 6, 1953, in Waltham, MA, Cheryl was a strong, loving, and intelligent woman who touched the lives of many with her direct and hardworking nature. She had a passion for storytelling, often sharing her life experiences with others.

Cheryl attended Cheverus High School and went on to pursue higher education at Salve Regina University. In 1985, she graduated from Somerville Nursing School, becoming a registered nurse. Cheryl dedicated over 30 years of her life to caring for patients in various medical settings on the North Shore.

Outside of her career, Cheryl enjoyed traveling, shopping, music, games, puzzles, and most importantly, spending time with her friends and family. She had a special bond with her daughter, Kerry Butler, who survives her.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie A. Butler (Melrose), her father, Donald F. Butler (Melrose), her brother, Michael F. Butler (Melrose), and her sister, Barbara Vanaria (Rhode Island).

A private family service will be held at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Cheryl's memory.

Cheryl's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by all.
