Christine J. Guzzo, of Wakefield, formerly of Melrose, died peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born in Waltham, MA on October 1, 1953, to the late Angelina (LaRosa) and Mario A. Guzzo. Christine was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 1971.
After high school she earned an associate's degree from Northeastern University and would go on to work as a licensed quality control technician for Raytheon and Honeywell for many years. Christine was very proud to buy her own home in Wakefield. She loved taking pictures and putting together albums of cherished memories with her daughter and the rest of her family and friends. Her famous saying she wrote in every card and photo album she gave was her signature "much much love, much much peace, much much health and wealth and much much much happiness always."
Christine is survived by her daughter Angela Guzzo & her fiancé Armando Velasco of Malden, and Armando's mother, Rhina Diaz. Sister of Paul Guzzo & his wife Mairead of Melrose, the late Joseph Guzzo and the late Michael Guzzo. Former sister-in-law of Catherine Cronin. Aunt of John Guzzo and his partner Melissa, Joseph Guzzo Jr. and his wife Tiffany, and Kyra Guzzo and her fiancé Tyler. Great aunt of Gianna, Ava, and Jake Guzzo all of Melrose. Godmother of Frank Wike. Christine was also an expecting grandmother of baby Armando Jr. coming in January of 2026. She will always be greatly missed and remembered forever.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 9:00-10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am following the visitation, at St. Mary's Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 465 Waverley Oaks Rd., Suite 202, Waltham, MA 02452. https://www.nationalmssociety.org/
