We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Christine Haynes, 56, of Melrose, MA on April 12, 2021. She was born on July 3rd, 1964 in Mount Vernon, NY to Harold and Wilma Torpey (Potyka). She will forever be loved by her family, friends and coworkers. She is survived by her children Jessica and Scott Haynes, Matthew Barker, Heather Cathey, as well as her grandchildren Kennedy Barker, Teagan, Logan and Liam Elliott. She also leaves behind her sisters, Lucy and Ellen, her brother-in-laws Timothy McLaughlin and Troy Nielsen along with countless other friends. She will also be terribly missed by her loving and loyal dogs, Buzz and Karma. She was predeceased by Dee McLaughlin, her beloved spouse of 20 years in 2020 after a long fought battle with multiple myeloma. Christine will be cremated and a gathering of friends and family will be held April 29th from 5pm-7pm at the Gately Funeral Home located at 79 West Foster St., Melrose, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention.
