Christine D. (Mattucci) Sanchez passed away in Long Island, NY on August 9, 2007. She was 54 years of age. Christine was born in Stoneham, raised in Melrose and attended Melrose Schools. In her early years she worked as a nurses aid for several nursing homes in the Melrose area. Mrs. Sanchez was a hairdresser instructor at Melrose Beauty Academy for several years and owned and operated Ideal Hair Salon in Lynn for several years and Ideal Hair & Tanning Salon on Wyoming Ave. in Melrose for many years. Christine was very loving, generous and giving person to her family & friends. She loved hobbies like cooking, crafts, painting and enjoyed belly dancing at the Victorian Fair in downtown Melrose. She was very outgoing and the life of the party. Christine was a longtime member of St. Marys Church and had been living in Long Island, NY the last four years. Mrs. Sanchez was the daughter of Phyllis E. Mattucci of Melrose and the late John E. Mattucci. Sister of Anthony E. Mattucci & his wife Alma of ME, Mark H. Mattucci & his wife Susan of Billerica, Lisa A. Mattucci of Melrose and the late John E. Mattucci & his surviving wife Roseanne of FL and the late Donna Lau. Devoted Companion of Edward Sharp of Long Island, NY. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. August 18th, at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Fri. 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
