Obituary

Christopher C. Kiley, age 61, passed away at his home in Saugus on Wednesday March 21, 2012. Born in Melrose on July 11, 1950 he was the son of the late Robert J. Kiley & Helen (Haven) Kiley. He was a 1970 graduate of Melrose High School and has lived in Saugus with his wife Karen for the past 39 years. Chris grew up in the milk business and delivered milk for Kiley Farm Dairy in Melrose until 1973. This was his first love and he was a milk bottle collector and proud owner of a 1953 Divco Milk Truck. Mr. Kiley could be seen driving around the Melrose area in his milk truck and taking it to auto shows where he won many awards. He also worked as an oil heat technician, graduated from N. E. Fuel Institute and had his master pipefitter's license. Mr. Kiley worked for several oil firms throughout his career; Rocky's Fuel, Boomer Oil, Alliance Express and Keohan Heating in Melrose. Mr. Kiley was named Massachusetts Worker of the Year in 2001 by the Williamson-Dickie manufacturing Company. His strong work ethic along with his compassion for customers who were struggling were the qualities mentioned in his award. But most of all he was a dedicated and loving grandfather who cherished the times spent with his family. Devoted husband of Karen L. (Keohan) Kiley. Loving father of Heath Kiley & his wife Aprilmarie Perry Kiley of Melrose and Jared C. Kiley of Saugus. Cherished grandfather of Payten, Avery and Fallon Kiley who brought joy to his life. Brother of Robert J. Kiley & his wife Joyce of Reading, Bonnie M. Tuccelli & her husband Anthony of Salisbury. Brother-in-law of Joyce (Keohan) Abramson of St. Croix, USVI and Stephen F. Keohan & his wife Karen of Wilmington. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors who will also miss him. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday March 27th at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8PM. Interment in the Kiley family plot at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham. Memorial contributions may be made to Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, 99 Summer St., 6th floor, Boston, MA 02110.
