Claire B. (Hedges) DiFranza died after a long illness at Melrose Wakefield Hospital June 6th at the age of 79. Claire was born and raised in Lynn, graduated from Lynn High School in 1950. and has lived in Melrose for over 40yrs. She worked as a book processor at the Melrose Public Library for 7yrs retiring in 1984. She had previously worked at General Electric in Lynn for over 10yrs. She was the wife of Orlando A. DiFranza. Mother of Joseph DiFranza & his wife Sharon of Princeton, Diana Sullivan & her husband William of Stoneham, Robin Parker & her husband James of Lunenburg and David DiFranza of Melrose. Sister of Raymond Hedges of W. Yarmouth, Theresa Veiga of Lynn, Rita Devine of Lynn and Dolores Hedges of ME. Also survived by 10 grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St, Melrose, on Saturday June 16 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited.
