Claire R. (Smith) Fitzemeyer died at home October 26th at the age of 76. She was born in Winthrop, raised in Revere, graduated from Revere High School and has been living in Melrose the past 37 years. Claire worked for Tucker Anthony as a secretary when she first graduated from high school and had also worked for Emery Air Freight for 15years as a clerk. She was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #25, a former member of the Ladies Sodality at Immaculate Conception Church in Revere, a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield and a member of the Most Blessed Sacarament Guild. Claire volunteered for the blind, was a foster parent for Nazareth Home for Children for several years and enjoyed bowling with the Guildette's Bowling League. She was the wife of Edward L. Fitzemeyer. Mother of Paul E. Fitzemeyer & his wife Mary of S.Hadley, Lisa M. Paone & her husband Jack of Wakefield, Cheryl A. Schluntz & her husband Peter of ME and Ted Fitzemeyer & his wife Sandra of Melrose. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Oct. 30th at 9AM. Funeral mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4-8PM.
