Claire F. Nolan, of Melrose, died on Jan. 25, 2007 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading at the age 72. Claire was born & raised in Chelsea before moving to Melrose. She was a graduate of St. Marys High School in Melrose. Claire worked as an Executive Representative in Public Relations for the Office of the President of New England Telephone for over 30 years before her retirement in 1990 at the age of 55. She was an avid skier & golfer, a member of the Red Hat Club in Melrose for several years and a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers for many years. Claire was the loving daughter of the late John W. Sr. & Mary E. (OConnor) Nolan. Devoted sister of John W. Nolan Jr. & his late wife Mary R. of Reading, Frank J. Nolan & his wife Marjorie of Revere, Robert C. Nolan & his wife Marilyn of FL, the late Joseph R. Richie Nolan & his wife Mary Kay of Weymouth and the late Eleanor Basczewski. Also survived by 16 loving & devoted nieces & nephews, 32 grand nieces & nephews and many caring & supportive friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday Jan. 29th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7PM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
