Claire G. Porter died at Melrose Wakefield Hospital June 15th at the age of 86. Claire was born in Boston, raised in East Boston, graduated from East Boston High, she lived in Everett for 17yrs and Melrose the past 43yrs. Claire worked for the New England Telephone Co. at the Facilities Dept. in Boston for 30yrs retiring in 1977. She was a longtime member of The Most Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the N.E. Telephone Pioneers. She was the wife of the late Howard C. Porter Sr. Mother of Howard C. Porter Jr. & his wife Anna of Stoneham, William F. Porter & his wife Carol of Melrose, Bradford D. Porter of Melrose & Elizabeth D'Arcangelo & her husband Joseph of Wakefield. Sister of Leo Anthony, Winifred Anthony both of East Boston and Helen Hoffman of Roslindale. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tues. June 19th at 10 AM. Funeral mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM.
