Obituary

Coleman F. Keane, of Stoneham, died peacefully surrounded by family on May 22, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on September 7, 1942, in Salthill, Galway, Ireland, to the late Thomas and Kate (Curran) Keane. Raised in Ireland, Coleman immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 and made it his home for the past 67 years.

Coleman worked as a carpenter for most of his life, and his dedication to his craft was evident in every project he touched. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his family. He loved attending his children's swim meets while they were growing up and later took great pride in watching his grandchildren's sporting events and school plays.

In his younger years, Coleman enjoyed playing Irish football and darts. Throughout his life, he cherished many rounds of cards and darts with friends. A passionate New England sports fan, he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams—usually with a Dunkin' coffee in hand and surrounded by family, including his beloved "grand-dogs."

Coleman was the beloved husband of Eileen (O'Donoghue) Keane of Stoneham. Loving father of Maureen DiPalma & her husband Francis of Tewksbury, Bernadette Hannigan & her husband John of Marshfield, Eileen Keane of Tewksbury, Sean Keane of South Portland, ME, and Thomas Keane & his wife Anne of Hingham. Proud grandfather of Tyler, Elizabeth, Audrey, Meaghan, Cole, and Ruby. Caring brother of Thomas Keane & his wife Catherine of Galway, Ireland, the late Margaret Rigney & her late husband Eamon Rigney of Dublin, Ireland, and brother-in-law of Maureen Tierney. Cherished uncle of Joseph Tierney, Paul Tierney, Eileen Moise, Bernadette White, Una Gilligan, Siobhan, Liam and Colm Rigney. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
