Colleen M. Kelly died suddenly in Framingham on December 14, 2012 after being struck by a car. Miss Kelly was born and raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 2009. Colleen was a senior and an English major at Framingham State University where she was studying to be a school teacher. Miss Kelly loved old movies, was an avid reader, she enjoyed Broadway plays, loved cats, the Red Sox and listening to the Beatles. Colleen had a very strong faith, was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose; where she taught CCD for several years. She was a sweetheart and will be sorely missed by all her family and friends. Colleen was the beloved daughter of Dennis & Kathleen (Lynch) Kelly. Loving sister of Caitlin D. Kelly & Timothy F. Kelly both of Melrose. Cherished granddaughter of Philip & Rosia Kelly of Melrose and the late Francis & Margaret Lynch. Caring niece of Kevin & Ann Marie Kelly, Alice & James Houlihan, Maureen & James Dagle, Patricia & William Copson, Janet & John O'Hara, Thomas & Jayne Lynch and Patricia & Michael McDermott. Devoted cousin of Maura McDermott as well as numerous other close cousins and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wednesday, December 19th at 9:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10:30AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
