Concetta J. (Galardi) DiMuzio died after a long illness at River Terrace Nursing Home in Lancaster April 1st at the age of 97. She was born in Boston, returned to live in Italy for a few years and then came back to the US and lived in Wakefield. Concetta went to work as a young child working as a seamstress for several factories in Wakefield and Malden. After marrying her husband Angelo they moved to Melrose where they lived for 65yrs.. Concetta & Angelo owned and operated the Modern Taylor Shop on Grove St. in Melrose for over 50yrs. Concetta was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church, a member of St. Mary's Ladies Sodality and she was past president of the Italian-American Catholic Club. Concetta moved to River Terrace Nursing Home with her husband Angelo and has lived there for the past 5yrs. Angelo & Concetta celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary on June 1,1999. The good Lord took Angelo on Jan. 15,2000, and a year later April 1,2001 God called Concetta Home. She was the wife for 75yrs of the late Angelo DiMuzio who passed away in Jan. 2000. Mother of Raymond DiMuzio & his wife Helen of Berlin. Grandmother of Helen Lyons of Carlisle, Raymond DiMuzio III of NJ and Angela Whitney of Lancaster. Great grandmother of Christine & Julia Lyons, Meredith & Matthew DiMuzio, Alexander, Myles & Jay Whitney. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. April 4th at 8 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 7-9PM.
