Constantine G. "Dino" Charos, of Melrose, died at the Genesis at Wakefield Center on Sept. 4, 2017 at the age of 90. Dino was born & raised in Roxbury and a graduate of Roxbury schools. He served his country as a Fireman First Class during WWII, serving in the Merchant Marines, U.S. Coast Guard and on 4 different vessels in the U.S. Navy. Dino resided in Melrose since 1950 and worked as a Labor Foreman for Turner Construction in Boston for 25 years before his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the V.F.W. Harold O' Young Post #2394 in Melrose and the U.S.S. Beatty Reunion Club for many years. Dino was a Mason & Shriner, an avid gardener and had the "Best Tomatoes". He was a hard worker and enjoyed traveling across the country & all of Europe with his late wife Catherine. Dino loved to spend his time at the beach in Marshfield and with his children & grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine V. (Hegerich) Charos for over 40 years. Loving father of George Charos of Marblehead, Paul Charos & his wife Jean and Christine McAnneny & her late husband William, all of Wakefield. Cherished grandfather of Brian, Matthew, Justin and Amanda. Caring brother of the late Christos Charos, Catherine Lucas and Peter Charos. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, Sept. 6th from 4-7PM. Funeral from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Ave., Woburn on Thursday, Sept. 7that 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
