Coreen Ann (Smith) Peters, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield on May 27, 2008 at the age of 60. Coreen was born & raised in Montreal, Canada graduated from St. Lambert Convent High School and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 40 years. She was a homemaker, had worked for the Sunlife Assurance Insurance Company in Canada for 5 years, Aetna Life in Brockton and the Co-Ri Company in Avon for several years. Mrs. Peters was also a licensed Real Estate Broker for Bjorkman & Lann Real Estate Inc. in Melrose for several years. Coreen was a member of Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose for many years and enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was the beloved wife of Richard A. Peters. Devoted daughter of John J. & the late Mary (Hackett) Smith. Caring sister of John Smith & his wife Evelyn of Val David, Canada, Raymond Smith & his wife Mimi of Ville LacBrome, Canada, Welden Smith & his friend Opel of Lasalle, Canada, Christine Lorenzetti of Westmount, Canada, Yolaine Garner & her husband Alan of St. Lambert, Canada, Wayne Smith of Osterville, Daniel Smith of Montreal, Canada and Frances White & her husband Robert of Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Cherished sister in law of Lorraine Wilson & her husband Philip of Belmont, NH and Margaret Peters & her late husband Russell of Haverhill. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday May 30th from 4-8PM.
