Daniel L. Cappellucci, Jr., of Peabody, formerly of Melrose, died suddenly on September 8, 2024 at the age of 70. Dan was born in Medford, MA on April 23, 1954 to Constance (Cucurullo) and Daniel Cappellucci, Sr.
Dan was raised in Medford, graduated from Medford High School and attended UMass Amherst. He was a proud member of the Medford High Hall of Fame, something he was always happy to share. Dan tirelessly ran his own fencing company for 45 years. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed horse racing as well as all animals. Over the years he owned many horses and dogs that he loved, including his children's dogs Betty and Millie. But most importantly, Dan was a family man. Family came before everything else; he loved spending time with them and was so proud of his children and grandchildren and would always look forward to and attended their events.
Daniel was the beloved husband of Maureen (Connolly) Cappellucci of Peabody. Loving father of Colleen Hawes & her husband Mark of Windham, NH, Allison Harren & her husband Dan of Reading, Nicholas Cappellucci & his fiancé Becky DeSantis of Peabody, and the late Andrea Carlin. Proud grandfather of Kayla, Ashlee, Liam, Nolan, Daniel, Matthew, Dominic, and Nathan. Caring brother of Joanne Ventresco & her husband Jim, Anthony Cappellucci & his wife Bernice, and Mary-Ann Greaves & her husband Ken. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow the mass at Lakeside Cemetery, 501 North Ave., Wakefield. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
