Daniel P. Strike of Melrose, died suddenly at his home on Friday, January 25, 2008. He was only 48 years old. Born on September 9, 1959 in Everett, MA to the late Leonard P. & Mary M. (Lally) Strike, he was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School, class of 1978. He served our country in the United States Army and Army National Guard and then attended Sylvania Tech of Waltham and the Franklin Institute. He then worked for Harvey Industries where he received his truck driver's license. Dan worked as a truck driver for the Bax Global Company of East Boston for 6 years. He lived in Melrose for 10 years and was a member of St. Mary's Church. He loved spending time with his wife and kids, especially on the weekends. He volunteered at his kid's schools, enjoyed working around the house with his hands, making projects, being a handy man and working on his yard. He was a great Boston Sports Fan and liked watching the games with his brothers. He was the devoted husband of 15 years to Kathleen M. (Cahill) Strike, loving father of Sarah J., Samuel A. & Madelyn R. Strike. Caring brother of Leonard S. Strike & his wife Margaret of Roslindale, Thomas J. Strike & his late wife Sandra of NH, Sheila A. Sullivan & her husband Daniel of FL, Mary M. Tuxbury & her husband Alan of Malden, Rita A. Ritchie & her husband Peter of Melrose & John G. Strike of Malden. Loving son-in-law of Elaine M. Cahill of Winchester. Also survived by 19 nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thurs. Jan. 31st at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 3-8PM. Interment is private. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home of Melrose.
