David M. Akerley, 20,died at Union Hospital, Lynn, after being stricken at home on January 14th. He was born in Melrose, he lived most of his life in Peabody, attended Peabody High and had lived in Lynn for a short time. He was a Clinical Associate at Union Hospital in the Surgical & Geriatric Mental Health Units and David had ambitions to pursue a medical career. He had attained a Black Belt in Karate. He was the son of David W. & Donna ( Skane ) Akerley of Lynn. Brother of Rachael L. Akerley of Lynn. Also survived by his Paternal grandparents Donald & Connie ( Erickson ) Akerley of Saugus and his Maternal grandparents Robert U. & Rose Marie ( Correia ) Skane of Medford and Melrose and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Thurs Jan 18 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wed 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm.
