David W. Jones "Jonesy" of Melrose passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Metro West Medical Center of Framingham. He was only 57 years old. Born on May 10, 1951 in Boston, to Constance H. (Hatch) Jones and the late Merle G. Jones, David was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School, class of 1969. He attended junior college in Boston and worked as a master carpenter. Jonesy enjoyed his work, his home life and his family. He loved working for 5 years with Bill & Doug Storey of Two Storey Builders of Bolton, MA. His joys were fishing, making fishing rods, cooking, smoking meat & pork and entertaining. He was very content, loved to joke around, was always even keeled and was a Melrose resident for over 36 years. David was the devoted husband of Andrea W. (Wilson) "Ama" Jones of Melrose with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Nicholas M. Jones of Melrose. Cherished son of the late Merle G. Jones & Constance H. Brown & her husband Douglas of FL. Caring brother of Stephen W. Jones & his companion Michele Martinelli of NC. Brother-in-law of Dean F. Wilson of San Francisco, Bruce B. Wilson & his wife Kate of Marshfield & Nathan J. Wilson & his wife Anne of Wayland. Son-in-law of John B. Wilson of Wayland. Also survived by 5 nieces & nephews. Funeral service in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wed. Aug. 6th at 11AM. Visiting hours Wed. morning from 9-11AM. Family & friends respectfully invited.
