David M. Kendricken passed away suddenly, by accident, on Sunday, November 23, 2014. He was only 25 years of age. David was born in Boston, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 2007 and from Fitchburg State University, Class of 2012 with a degree in Communication, Film Production and a minor in writing. Mr. Kendricken had a passion for film at a very young age and always had a camera hanging around his neck. He was currently working as a free lancer in film production, lighting and doing video presentations. David had previously worked in public TV for Peabody Access Communication and during his school years he worked part time for the Boston Globe and at the Davis Farm Land Maze. David was an unbelievable writer and recently had an article he wrote about LED lighting and the affects it has on the film industry in Los Angeles, CA get picked up by several news organizations and caught the interest of the film makers in California. Mr. Kendricken also posted on a blog the past few years, "no film school.com" which had numerous followers. David obviously had a passion for film and writing but was also an accomplished drummer and worked at the Music Shop in Melrose. A lifelong resident of Melrose, he loved spending summers at York Beach and Nubble Light in York, ME, with his family, cousins and friends. He was also a movie buff and enjoyed discussing how movies were made, the lighting used and how the shots were created. David was the beloved son of John T. & Maria (Sciarra) Kendricken. Loving brother of Lisa J. Kendricken and Daniel W. Kendricken both of Melrose. Cherished grandson of Romeo Sciarra & his late wife Ida of Stoneham, the late William G. & Jean Kendricken and the late Lea Sciarra.. Loving boyfriend of Stefanie Barber. Also survived by numerous loving, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in the United States & Italy. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, November 28th from 4:00-8:00PM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday Nov. 29th in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10:00AM, followed by the burial at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in David's name to Fitchburg State University Foundation, 160 Pearl St, Fitchburg, MA 01420 or to a Charity of One's Choice.
