David M. Stubby Shaw, Sr. of Melrose, passed away Friday, August 31, 2007 at The Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was only 65 years old. Born on September 11, 1941 to the late Stanley Shaw & Marie (Moore) Shaw, he was raised in Melrose and attended The Lincoln, Ripley & St. Marys Schools. Mr. Shaw worked for the City of Melrose as a truck driver for over 10 years. He was a member of the Melrose Elks and enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and helping his wife Carol with arts & crafts. He was a life long friend of the Krockmal Farm in Tewksbury where he assisted with hayrides & the pumpkin feast. Dave was the devoted husband of Carol A. (Reddington) Shaw, with whom they shared 46 years of marriage. He was the loving father of David M. Shaw, Jr. of Melrose, John S. Shaw & his wife Teresa of Dracut & AnnMarie Molbeck of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Derek M., Brandon M., Jessica A., Ashley N. & Cassandra D. Shaw & Lindsay M. & Paul E. Molbeck, Jr. Caring brother of Robert Shaw & his wife Ruthie of Ohio, Ruth Outhout of Lynn, John Shaw & his wife Eileen of Reading, Maureen Nicklau & her husband Robert of Lynn & Steven Shaw & his wife Joyce of FL. Special brother- in- law of John S. Reddington & his wife Jan of Amesbury. Great friend of Paul & Ann Grover of Melrose & John & Jan Cave of Tewksbury. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thurs. Sept. 6 at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Marys Church Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Family & friends invited.
