Deborah "Debbie" Mackenzie passed away, March 19, 2024 in Melrose MA. She was born in Somerville and a long time resident of Melrose. Devoted daughter of Joseph (J.D.) and Audrey (Gullage) Healey. Survived by her beloved husband of almost 39 years Donald Mackenzie of Melrose.

Debbie's love is carried on through her devoted family. Her son, Scott Mackenzie and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Nashua, NH. Her brother Matt Healey and partner Danielle Noonan of Gloucester, MA. Her nephew Dan Healey and partner Drake Cormier of Beverly, MA. Her Brother Mark Healey of Somerville, and nephews Patrick and Owen Healey of Beverly, MA. Her sister Grace Healey and her many nieces and nephews.

Debbie was a devoted servant of the state working at the registry of deeds for over 40 years. She was an avid book reader and you could always find her on the dock in Gloucester getting a good tan.

Debbie is also survived by her beloved Labrador Lilly. She loved her dogs and most days you could find her walking mount hood golf course with her pups and good friends. She was lucky to have a great group of girlfriends including Carol, Susan, Laurie, Missy, Beverly, Elizabeth and Joanne.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in her name to MSPCA, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Services will take place at Gately Funeral home in Melrose Thursday March 28th 4-7 pm. Service to be held at 7pm. Celebration of life will take place at a later date.
