Obituary

Deborah L. "Debby" Orsillo, of Melrose, passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2024, at the age of 71.

Born on February 13, 1953 in Cambridge MA, Debby graduated from Melrose High School and earned an Associates Degree in Fashion and Design from Chamberlain in 1973.

Debby was known for her boundless conversation—she could outtalk just about anyone and found humor in her own ability to fill a room with chatter. Beneath her lively and talkative nature, she carried a deep concern for others, always thinking of and worrying about the people she loved.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Wednesday Alice, with whom she shared many special outings, including their trips to The Nutcracker in Boston. Their last adventure was attending the Halloween Happening at the Museum of Science, an event that was one of Debby's favorite's because it brought her family together in music.

Debby's pride for her only child, Walter, was unwavering, especially as she celebrated their continued success in being nominated for many Boston Music Awards and in pursuing a career in art that combined both talent and passion.

Debby was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her. Known for her vibrant spirit and deep love for her family, she took immense pleasure in decorating her home for the holidays, celebrating milestones, and embracing the simple joys of life. Her legacy is carried on through the love, laughter, and treasured memories shared by her family and friends.

Debby was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Agnes (Stewart) Perry and sister, Linda L. (Perry) O'Donnell, and leaves behind Linda's widow Richard D. "Dickie" O'Donnell, her loving child Walter, daughter-in-law Sarah Edrie, adored granddaughter Wednesday Alice, and her caring siblings Toni Ann Perry of Rhode Island, and Anthony Perry and his wife Beth of Tewksbury. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster Street, Melrose, MA 02176 on December 15, 2024, from 2pm to 4pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Debby may be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
