Delores M. "Dee" (Siraco) Gonzales passed away peacefully while listening to the live broadcast of Pope Francis presiding over the Solemn Easter Vigil in the St. Peter Basilica at the Vatican on April 19, 2014 at the age of 77.
She was born in Everett on June 1, 1936 to the late Andrew & Angelina (Napolitano) Siraco. Dee was raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School, lived in Malden for a few years and has been a resident of Melrose since 1967. Delores was a dedicated homemaker whose love and care for her family was her main purpose in life. Her strong Catholic faith was a focal point in her life and she was a member of the Incarnation Church and St. Mary's Church parishes in Melrose.
Mrs. Gonzales enjoyed traveling with her husband Armand to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Florida and Aruba. Dee enjoyed her volunteer work at Melrose City Hall, for the fire department and at the Milano Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, loved birds and loved spending time around her pool with her family and friends.
Delores was the beloved wife of 59 years to Armand A. Gonzales. Loving and devoted mother of Stephen Gonzales of Revere, Dennis Gonzales of Newburyport, the late Susan Psaros and her husband Kevin of Groveland. Loving grandmother of Gina, Amanda and Jessica. Cherished great grandmother of Tatiana, Idalys, Jordan and Gianna. Devoted sister of Anthony Siraco and wife Ruth of Dracut & Barbara Griffith and husband Wayne of Woburn. Loving niece of Mary "Sally" (Napolitano) Agnes of Everett. Also survived by many sister-in-laws, nieces , nephews, cousins & loving and kind hearted friends.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wednesday, April 23rd from 9:00-10:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
