Daimond Patrick Govostes was taken into the arms of God, suddenly, on Monday, June 27, 2011. He was 31 years of age. Diamond was born in Melrose, raised in Stoneham, lived in Sanford, Maine for several years and the past year in Melrose. Mr. Govostes worked with his dad as a heating oil technician for many years. Diamond loved working with his hands, working on cars and could fix anything. He was also very talented when it came to computers. Mr. Govostes enjoyed video games and was always there to lend a hand to a family member or friend. Diamond was the cherished son of Diamond G. & Paula F. (O'Brien) Govostes of Melrose. Beloved brother of Christopher Govostes & his wife Laura of Everett & Dennis Govostes of Saugus. Loving grandson of Anne E. (O'Keefe) O'Brien of Melrose, the late Francis B. O'Brien and the late George J. & Elaine (Constant) Govostes. He leaves a special aunt Mary O'Brien of Melrose. Devoted nephew of John J. O'Brien of Malden, Timothy O'Brien of Holliston, James O'Brien of Melrose, Andrea Coleman of Saugus, James & Nicholas Govostes both of Everett and Linnie Auger of Billerica. Uncle of Julia & Charles Govostes. Also survived by numerous cousins & friends. Visiting hours will be held at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, on Saturday, July 2nd from 8:30 to 9:45AM. Followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Diamond's life at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Memorial contributions may be made in Diamond's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Interment will be private.
