Diane Emery, 66, of Melrose, Massachusetts, passed away on February 17th, 2023, after a yearlong battle with cancer. She passed at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Diane was born on October 9th, 1956, to John and Rita Stanley in Melrose, Massachusetts. She attended Saint Mary's elementary and middle school. In 1974 she graduated Melrose High School.

She met Herbert (Chip) Emery in 1980 and they married on May 1st, 1982, sharing over 40 beautiful years together. They raised two children Kyle and Devon.

When Diane had Kyle, she decided to dedicate her life to being a wonderful and loving mother. She was a fiercely committed wife and mother, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She instilled in us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to..

Diane was a passionate tennis player, an avid reader, a business manager for Emery Building Company, a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother. When she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found on the court, playing tennis, or spending time with her two grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, her absolute favorite holiday being Thanksgiving, which she hosted yearly.

She loved summer trips to Cape Cod. She also loved traveling, New York City and Paris being too.

o of her favorite places to visit. She was an amazing mom, nurturing, supportive, kind, and loving, we will miss her greatly.

Diane was the cherished wife of and survived by her loving husband Herbert Emery, beloved mother of Kyle Emery, Kyle's wife Aundrea Emery, and Devon Emery, and beloved grandmother to Harriet Emery and Ruby Emery. Diane was also the caring sister of her siblings Brian Stanley and his wife Yong Stanley, Pat Elsea and her husband Jim Elsea, Elaine Stanley, Laura Paquette and her husband Scott Paquette, Jane McGrath and her husband Chris McGrath, and Andrew Stanley and his husband Richard Whale.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
