Diane M, (Dantona) Schlesinger, of Melrose, died at her home on August 30, 2013 at the age of 59. Diane was born in Winthrop, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1972. She resided in Melrose for most of her life and worked as a Staff Assistant for American Airlines for over 10 years. Diane enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean and spending time with her husband & family on their boat in Gloucester. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth A. Schlesinger for 37 years. Devoted daughter of Dorothy (Riccio) & the late Joseph Dantona of Winthrop. Loving mother of Kristy Murphy & her husband Michael of Malden and Kelly Snow & her husband Kyle of Leydon, MA. Cherished grandmother of Isabella & Caleb. Caring sister of Joseph Dantona & his wife Jane of Nahant. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Sept. 3rd from 4-8PM. A celebration of Diane's life will be held at the family home at 22 Upland Rd., Melrose on Wednesday Sept. 4th at 1PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Diane's name to Mass.
