Dina (Gennaro) DeCecca passed away tragically on Martha's Vineyard, Tuesday, July 6, 2010. She was 40 years old. Dina was born in Queens NY, raised in Ozone Park, NY and New Hyde Park, NY. She graduated from New Hyde Park Memorial High School and Queens College. Mrs. DeCecca lived in Wakefield for a few years, Tewksbury for 5 years before settling in Melrose in 2001. Dina's favorite job was being a mother and wonderful wife. She was a talented cook, participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer the past several years, enjoyed music and reading. Dina worked at Turner Seafood & Grill Restaurant in Melrose for the past 4 years as a hostess, waitress and manager. She always greeted her customers with a beautiful warm smile and was a talented and dedicated worker. Mrs. DeCecca also volunteered numerous hours at the Hoover Elementary School in Melrose, where her two daughters attended. Dina was the beloved wife of John F. DeCecca Jr.. Cherished mother of Olivia E. and Ella M. DeCecca. Loving daughter of Vincent & Elizabeth (Paduano) Gennaro of New Hyde Park, NY. Devoted sister of Vincent Gennaro of NY. Adored daughter-in-law of John F & Laura (Ciovacco) DeCecca of Melrose. Loving sister-in-law of Amy Davis & her husband Chad of Wakefield. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday, July 12th at 10:15AM. A Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Dina will be held at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:30AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 2:00PM6:00PM. Interment will take place at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
