Dolores "Dolly" Cohen of Melrose, formerly Dolores Salvatore of Revere, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on March 26, 2021. She was 88 years old.
Wife of the late James Cohen, she leaves behind four children, Susan Davis and her husband Dan of Gloucester, Frank "Chris" DeChristopher Jr. of Andover, John DeChristopher and his wife Kelly of Cohasset, and Matthew DeChristopher and his wife Karen of North Reading. She also leaves seven grandchildren, John DeChristopher Jr. and his wife Keely, Keith Vient, Nicholas Vient and his wife Lauren, Danielle DeChristopher, Derek DeChristopher, Joshua DeChristopher and Kasandra DeChristopher, and great-grandchildren, Fiona and Dylan DeChristopher.
She is predeceased by her two sisters Patricia DeSalvo and Joan Gavegnano, and brother Lawrence "Buzzy" Salvatore, and is survived by her brother, Robert Salvatore. She was beloved by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Dolly was an avid golfer, dancer, walker, and maintained an active social life in Melrose. She loved music, especially bagpipes, and enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Jim. She was a longtime member of Mt. Hood Golf Club and loved spending time with her golfing friends, "The Hoodwinks."
Memorial Services will be private. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date when it's safe for all to gather.
