Domenic D. 'Duke' Leone passed away at home on January 16th at the age of 80. He was born in Boston, raised in East Boston, graduated from Boston Latin High School & Northeastern University with a degree in engineering. Duke worked a mechanical engineer for 35 years, working for Lesselles Engineering in Boston and then for Teledyne Engineering Inc. of Waltham retiring in 1991. Mr. Leone has been a resident of Melrose since 1958 and was part of the greatest generation serving in the US Army during WWII. He was the husband of Rose M. (Nazzaro) Leone. Father of Andrea M. Poulos & her husband Arthur of Malden, Jeanmarie Leone of Belchertown, Matthew P. Leone & his wife Jane Menton of Wakefield and the late Mark A. Leone. Brother of Mario Leone of Saugus, Alba Mancuso of Georgetown and the late David Leone & Andrew Leone. Grandfather of Jennifer Poulos-Offnick, James A. Poulos, Alexander Leone-Forgette and Timothy Leone- Forgette. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wednesday Jan. 21st at 9 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. WWII Army Veteran.
