Obituary

Donald F. Breen passed away at Kindred Hospital in Peabody, on March 14th, he was 70. Donald was born in Boston, raised in East Boston, graduated from East Boston High School & Bentley College. Mr. Breen worked as a CPA for the TB Donnelly Company in Boston for over 25 years, before starting his own firm in 1988. He started the Donald F. Breen Company of Charlestown and ran the company with his daughter Alaine for the past 18 years. Donald was a founding member, former director & treasurer of the Charlestown Business Association. Mr. Breen was a resident of Melrose for the past 40 years, was a member of Incarnation Church in Melrose, where he sang in the church choir. Donald was well known for his singing at the Blues Diner in Melrose and the surrounding area. He was a past treasurer of the Melrose Kiwanis Club, a former volunteer & treasurer for the Boy Scouts Troop 635 at Incarnation Church in Melrose and he served in the Army National Guard in the late 50s & early 60s. Donald was the husband of the late Loretta S. (Silverio) Breen. Father of Alaine M. Breen & her husband Paul McClintock of Melrose, Michael A. Breen of Nashua, NH and David J. Breen of Melrose. Grandfather of Ryan C. McClintock. Brother of Edward Breen & his wife Roberta of Lynnfield. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday March 18th, at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-7PM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Landmark School, 429 Hale St. Beverly Farms 01915.
