Donald J. Buckley, of Sandown, NH, formerly of Boxford, died at the Holy family Hospital in Methuen on Sept. 26, 2011 at the age of 79. Donald was born in Melrose and raised in Malden & Woburn. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War. Don went on to earn his business degree from the University of New Hampshire, Class of 1959. He worked as a Specialty Assembler for Energy Sciences in Wilmington for 15 years and resided in Boxford for 30 years & the past 12 years in Sandown, NH. Don was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of the Sandown 60 Plus Club for several years. He was the husband of the late Nancy A. (Leary) Buckley. Father of Jean Buckley and her companion Richard DeMidio of NH, Mary Ann Fowler & her husband Daniel of NY, Susan Katherine Buckley & Gail Astrid Buckley both of Woburn. Grandfather of Michael, Daniel, Hope & Clare. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends in the Cardiac Rehab Program at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Friday Sept. 30th, at 7:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham. US Army Korean War Veteran.
