Donald F. Butler died after a long illness at Melrose Wakefield Hospital Feb.14th. He was born in Chelsea, raised in Medford, graduated from Malden Catholic High School Class of 1941 and graduated from Boston University as a CPA after he served in WWII. Donald worked as a steriotyper for both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald (Record American) and was a member of the steriotyper's union where he acted as a national mediator for several years. Donald has lived in Melrose since 1954, was a lifemember of the Melrose DAV Post 120 and past commander and past treasurer for the American Legion Post in Melrose. He served as a captain in the Airforce during WWII and the Korean War.. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. He was a devoted husband of Marjorie A. ( Ryan ) Butler. Beloved father of Barbra Vanaria of Waltham, Michael F. and Cheryl A. Butler both of Melrose and loving grandfather of Kerry E. Butler of Melrose.
