Donald F. Corcoran of Melrose, passed away on October 26, 2025 at the age of 95. He was born on May 17, 1930 in the City of Melrose, Massachusetts. He was the son of Edmund and Katherine Corcoran and one of 6 children. He was a life-long resident of Melrose and met the love of his life, Shirley Crocker in High School where they both graduated from Melrose High School in 1949. They eventually married on July 18, 1954 and had 3 daughters.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley and grandson Christopher Dunne. He is survived by his daughter Cathy Dunne and husband Richard of Melrose, daughter Joan Starkey of Fredericktown, MO and daughter Susan Simeola and husband Mark of Melrose. Survived by grandchildren, Kerri Fagan and husband Rob, Brian Dunne and wife Danielle, Michael Simeola and wife Kate, Scott Kaligian and wife Cindey, Stacey Lucchesi and husband Andreas, Brooke Matthews and husband Caleb. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister Patricia and husband Jack of Windham NH.

He dedicated many years to refereeing Youth Hockey which was one of the passions of his life. Donald was the longest living member of 64 years of the Melrose Elks Lodge 1031 and he was Exalter Ruler 3 times and held various other posts in the Lodge throughout the years. He spent his entire career at New England Telephone Company and retired at the age of 55 and spent a lot of precious time with his grandchildren.

Visiting hours on Tuesday, October 28, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster Street, Melrose. The Funeral will be held at Gately Funeral Home at 11:00AM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Interment to follow the funeral service at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
