Donald M. Johnson, 71, died at Sarasota Life Care Center, Sarasota FL, Saturday morning, after a brief illness. Born in Natick, Ma, he was raised in Malen, graduated from Malden High in 1948. Don was New England Manager for DuPont Photo Products and retired in the late 1980's.He resided in Melrose for over 30 years and had been in Sarasota for the past 7 yrs. He was a member of the Irish-American Club in Malden, the Wyoming Lodge of Masons, Melrose and the BPOE (Elks ) in Sarasota. Don was the husband of the late Claire C. ( O'Connor ) Johnson. Father of Karen M. MacDonald of Bow NH, David J. Johnson of Melrose and Christine Chipman of Ware MA, Brother of Hazel Craig of Saudi Arabia. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St, Melrose on Thurs Jan 3 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation, 426 Upham St at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wed 2 - 7 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
