Donald H Libby, of Stoneham, passed away on March 1st, 2023, at the age of 74. He was a Master machinist who worked for the Boston Globe for over 40yrs. Don was born on Oct 24 1948 and raised in Chelsea, MA. After high school he was drafted into the Army and served overseas during the Vietnam war.

Don was well known in the New England Hot Rod community. He enjoyed building and restoring vintage cars. A jack of all trades, Don was a pilot who also loved boating and spending time with friends at his beloved Chelsea yacht club. Reserved and stoic, Don showed his love for family and friends through hard work and devotion. He was everyone's resident expert whenever problems arose, mechanical or otherwise.

Son of the late Miriam Libby and Donald F Libby. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary G Libby of Stoneham, two sons David and Donald, grand-daughters Scarlett and Ivy, and sister Christine Capone of Chelsea.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 4pm-7pm, Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
