Donald P. Shea passed away at his home in Melrose on Monday, January 21, 2008. He was 83 years of age. Donald was born and raised in Melrose, attended Melrose Schools and has been a lifelong resident. He served in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Shea worked for the Melrose School Department as a custodian at the junior high school for over 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was an avid golfer, playing at MT Hood, Rowley Country Club and other local courses. Donald was a wonderful husband who was very close to his children, grandchildren, his daughter-in-law & son-in-law. He loved his trips to Nova Scotia every year and traveling across country to explore California. Mr. Shea was a lifelong member of St. Marys Church and a member of the K of C in Melrose. Beloved husband of Lea (Comeau) Shea. Father of Maureen Shea Siefert & her husband Robert of N. Reading, David Shea of CA and Edward Shea & his wife Elaine of Wakefield. Grandfather of Kimberly & Amy Shea. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, January 25th, at 8AM.
