Donelia M. "Dody" (Memolo) Chatis, of Melrose, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on August 12, 2008 at the age of 77. Dody was born & raised in Berlin, NH and a graduate of Berlin High School, Class of 1948 and Hickox secretarial School. She resided in Berlin until 1958, before moving to Boston, where she lived until 1969. Dody lived in Melrose for the past 39 years and worked as an Office manager for Miller Wachman Accounting Firm in Boston for 45 years before retiring in 2006. She enjoyed traveling with her husband & family to Aruba, LA, Hawaii, Niagra Falls and Las Vegas. Her family was the key to her existence and if you were her friend, then you had a friend for life. Dody was the beloved wife of George Chatis for over 39 years. Cherished sister of Clara Johnson & her husband Raymond, Anthony "Tony" Memolo & his wife Florence, all of Berlin, NH, Shirley Miller & her husband Kenneth of VT, Ralph Memolo & his wife Sylvia of Brookline and the late Doris & Fio Memolo. Caring sister in law of Elaine Finklestein & her husband Mitchell of Revere. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday August 14th from 4-8PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. A second visiting hours will be held at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home 33 Exchange St., Gorham, NH on Saturday Aug. 16th from 9-10:30AM. Followed by a Funeral Mass at the Holy Family Church, Church St., Gorham, NH at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Gorham, NH.
