Donna Mae (Ricker) Geehan passed away at her home in Lakeland, FL on November 25, 2015. She was only 68 years of age. Donna was born in Melrose on December 19, 1946 to the late Laurence & Nora (DiNardi) Ricker; she was raised in Melrose and graduated from St. Mary's Grammar & St. Mary's High School, Class of 1964. Mrs. Geehan was a lifelong resident of Melrose before moving to Florida 11 years ago. Donna worked as a secretary for the Federal Government in the Office of Currency Control for 37 years. She and her husband John enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods Casino in CT and the Hardrock Casino in FL and loved taking cruises to the Caribbean on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Donna was an avid reader and was know for reading a book in a day. Mrs. Geehan was also a very caring person and would do anything for anyone in need. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to John J. Geehan. Loving sister of Laurence Ricker of Maine and Sandra Atkinson and her husband Gary of NH. Caring sister-in-law of Patrick, Sheila, Eileen, Bridget Geehan, Alice Hall, Mary Wagner all of Melrose, Margaret Geehan of FL, James Geehan of Vt, Monica & Paul Marcotte of NH and the late Pauline Geehan & Kathleen Geehan. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and a great great niece. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday December 1, 2015 from 9:30-11:00AM, followed by a funeral service at 11AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose will follow.
