Obituary

Dora (DiGiovanni) Franckiewicz, of Melrose, formerly of East Boston, died at the Harborside Healthcare in Wakefield on August 5, 2006 at the age of 91. Dora was born, raised and lived most of her life in East Boston and resided the past 18 years in Melrose. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston and always had a flare for style. During the 1940s, she worked as a Supervisor for the Cross Dress Company in Boston, with a career that lasted almost 30 years. Dora also worked at Stevens Drug Store in East Boston for over 20 years, was an active member of Mount Carmel Church and always had a love for cooking. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Franckiewicz. Loving daughter of the late Joseph & Gallerena (DiSilvio) DiGiovanni. Devoted sister of Filomena Capecci of Rumford, RI and the late Susan Paolini, Domenic, Nicholas and Remo DiGiovanni. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday August 9th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7PM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Contributions may be made in Doras memory to Beacon Hospice, 100 Cummings Center, Suite 129-G, Beverly, MA 01915.
