Doris Mae (Meuse) Hagen-D'Angelo of Melrose, died on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. She was 86 years old. Born on September 13, 1923 in Wakefield to the late Samuel & Amelia (Muise) Meuse, she was raised in Stoneham and attended Stoneham Public Schools. Mrs. D'Angelo worked for a few years at Guillow's of Wakefield making model airplanes and then with the Bay State Box Factory of Stoneham for a few years. Doris then became a homemaker and raised her three children. She enjoyed watching soap operas and the Patriots, reading magazines and the Boston Globe. She was the wife of the late Sabatino D'Angelo of Melrose. Beloved mother of Carolyn Murphy of Nashua, NH, Helen Miller-Gifford of Peabody and Robert A. Hagen of Melrose. Mother-in-law of Roger Gifford of Peabody and Maureen K. Hagen of Melrose. Sister of Walter L. Meuse of Winchester & Thomas R. Meuse of Stoneham. Also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wednesday, October 28th at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial in her honor will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10:00AM . Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
