Biggie, Dorothea (Penny) of Melrose, December 14th, 2025, age 81. A loving wife to the late James A. Biggie, she was also a devoted mother to Laura, James and Carol, an adoring grandmother to Michael and Connor and cherished sister-in-law to Barbara Criss. Sister of the late John Eugene Murphy, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Charlestown High School, she worked as an associate at Lechmere in Cambridge where she met her husband, Jim. Family was always the center of Penny's world. While raising her children, she went on to work as a bank teller and as a receptionist in Boston. In the years since her retirement, Penny enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the world and doting on her grandsons.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Melrose on Monday, December 22nd at 12 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Speaks and the American Cancer Society.
