Dorothea Marie Gallagher (July 28, 1931- June 25, 2014) of Melrose, MA entered into eternal rest on June 25th in Newport, RI. "Dolly" was born to Annie and Lawrence Sullivan of Somerville. Beloved wife of the late Francis J. Gallagher. Cherished mother of Francis J. Gallagher, Woburn, Sheila A. Kelley, Reading, Maureen Pelczarski, Middletown, RI, Patricia S. Etienne, Nashua, NH, and their families and the late Matthew Gallagher. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Lawrence M. Jr., Thomas M., John Joseph, Francis and Eileen Sullivan, Marian Hames and Anna T. Driscoll. Loving Nana of Allison and Matthew Kelley of Reading, MA and Nikolai and Julia Pelczarski of Middletown, RI. Dolly was a resident of Melrose and a parishioner of St. Mary's Church for over 50 years. She was a summer resident of York Beach, ME and her beach house was her personal paradise for over 30 years. She was a long time Federal Government Employee and retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday June 30th at 8AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 2:00-6:00PM. Interment at North Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge, MA.
