Dorothy E. (Comeau) Archacki, of Haverhill, formerly of Melrose and Saugus, died at the Penacook Place Nursing Home in Haverhill on Nov. 17, 2006 at the age of 85. Dorothy was born & raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1940. She was a resident of Melrose for most of her life and a member of St. Marys Church. Mrs. Archacki lived in Saugus for 7 years, the past 3 years in Haverhill and loved to crochet and watch figure Skating. She was a member of the Polymnia Chorus group and would sing at the Melrose Memorial Hall during the 1960s. Dorothy worked as a housekeeper for the Middlesex Fells Nursing Home for several years and also worked at Transitron, both in Melrose for 10 years. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late John S. Archacki Sr. Loving mother of twin sons John S. Archacki Jr. & James A. Archacki, both of Haverhill & Beverly A. Guerriero & her husband Dominic of Danville, NH, and Adele Champlin & her husband Scott of New Harmony, IN. Caring sister of Thomas Comeau of AZ & the late Richard Comeau, Louis Comeau, Agnes Devlin and Hilda Brogan. Devoted grandmother of Amy, Kenny, Julie, Nick, John, Brittany, Jenna and Sam. Cherished great grandmother of Kimberly, Taylor, Eric, Paige and Kayla. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday Nov 22nd at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
