Dorothy (Murphy) Buckley passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital, on January 24, 2014. She was 85 years of age. Dorothy was born at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston on October 2, 1928 to the late Charles & Alice (Petry) Murphy. She was raised in Malden, graduated from Malden High School, lived in Melrose for 65 years, Sandwich for 10 years and in East Hampstead, NH since 2006. Mrs. Buckley was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished the times spent with her family. Dorothy had an eye for decorating and truly put her talents to work throughout her home. She enjoyed traveling, going shopping, sewing, playing cards and had a wonderful group of friends. Mrs. Buckley was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence H. "Larry" Buckley. Loving mother of Denis Buckley & his wife Mary of Boynton Beach, FL, Jeffrey Buckley & his wife Karen of Haverhill and Michele Freni & her husband Ed of Reading. Devoted grandmother of Lindsey Couture, Jamie Mathison & Erin Sabine. Great grandmother of Dylan, Cassidy & Julian. Sister of Patricia Davis. Sister-in-law of Kay Murphy. Also survived by many close friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, January 28th at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00-8:00PM. Burial will be private.
