Dorothy C. (Thornton) Caggiano, of Malden, Formerly of Melrose & Pompano Beach, FL, died at her home on August 4th at the age of 81. Dorothy was born in Boston, raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. She lived in Melrose for 15 years, Pompano Beach, Fl for 20 years and the past 8 years in Malden. Dorothy and her husband were members of Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose for many years. She was a homemaker and the devoted wife of the late Arthur W. Caggiano. Loving mother of Paul Caggiano of NH, Mary Libby of Stoneham, Anne Marie Caggiano of Malden, Karen Erwin of Wakefield, Robert Caggiano of CA and the late Arthur Jr., Kevin, and Ann Susan Caggiano. Caring sister of Barbara Alioto of Winthrop and the late Virginia Hansford. Cherished grandmother of Arthur, Miranda, Felicia, Suzanne, Joseph, Jamie, Jason, Courtney, Donald, David, Christopher, Kimberly and Corey. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday August 6th at 9AM. Funeral mass in the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM. Burial in Winthrop Cemetery in Winthrop.
